Gynecomastia is common around the time of puberty and often hangs around even after hormones balance out. Gynecomastia can occur at any age. In some instances, the underlying cause can be diagnosed and treated; however, more often than not the reason cannot be identified.

To remove gynecomastia tissue, a small curved incision within the areola, just below the nipple, is created to identify and then remove the firm gynecomastia tissue. Since this small incision is fully contained within the colored portion of the areola, it heals with little to no visible scar.
Gynecomastia tissue removal techniques vary in detail and need to be tailored to the concerns of each patient. Most procedures can range from simple removal of firm glandular tissue under the areola to chest liposuction, or a combination of both. Occasionally, we remove sagging male chest skin after gynecomastia surgery to meet a patient’s goal.
Dr. Beck will talk to you about the techniques for your gynecomastia surgery in Frisco, and ensure you have total confidence in the procedure and in the outcomes.
No, your workout will need to take a breather for a short time after your procedure. We perform this surgery on an outpatient basis, which means after a short post-operative recovery time, you will return home the same day.
You can expect minor soreness following gynecomastia surgery, but basic daily activities can be resumed within 24 hours. You will wear a compression garment under your shirt for several weeks to help minimize swelling and allow early activity. Most patients can resume stretching and light activity without discomfort after 1 week. You should avoid strenuous activity and heavy exercise for 6 weeks to allow full healing.
